InfoJeffrey Pravato is the endorsed Republican candidate running to represent residents living along the south shore of Nassau and Suffolk counties in the New York State Senate. Republicans hold a one seat majority in the Senate. If Jeff Pravato loses, New York City Democrats will control every branch of state government and there will be nothing to stop the Bill de Blasio radical agenda of runaway taxes and spending, new entitlements, sanctuary cities that protect criminal aliens, and state school aid meant for Long Island schools being diverted to City schools. Electing Jeff Pravato to the New York State Senate is the most important vote one can make in the 2018 election.

As Massapequa Park Village Mayor for the past five years, Jeff Pravato successfully improved the Village’s bond rating, cut wasteful spending, and protected homeowners by freezing property taxes and forcing government to live within the State property tax cap. This fiscally conservative approach to government is deep-rooted in Jeff’s character. A commuter to Manhattan for 25 years, Jeff worked in the finance industry. He experienced the ups and downs of unreliable LIRR service and deteriorating roadways on Long Island during his commute to the City. Jeff knows how to solve problems and achieve results in Albany and on Long Island.

As Mayor, Jeff successfully obtained state and county funding to improve village roadways, built a new playground, strengthened our shoreline to protect neighborhoods from future storms, and improved the local senior citizen center. His leadership was recognized by Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino, who hired Jeff to help clean up the Town Department of Public Works and streamline road improvement projects. As Deputy Commissioner, Jeff has helped implement a new environmentally-friendly way of recycling which also turns trash into cash. Rather than cost taxpayers money, Town recycling now generates millions for residents and helps hold the line on property taxes. On behalf of the Town, Jeff Pravato is also working with the State Department of Environmental Conservation to authorize and implement a $150 million cleanup effort of the Grumman-Navy Plume. Although our current State Senator opposed this cleanup initiative, the Republican Senate Majority secured the necessary funds.

Law enforcement needs additional resources to combat MS-13 and the heroin crisis plaguing our neighborhoods. Jeff Pravato will fight to secure increased funding for enforcement, awareness, education, and treatment programs. Unlike his opponent, Mr. Pravato opposes sanctuary cities and free college tuition for illegal aliens. Jeff believes Americans come first. He will fight to secure more funding for Long Island public and private schools, create new downtown housing opportunities for young people and stand up to the New York City Democrats who seek to drain Long Island of its tax base, tap our drinking wells and place those in need of City housing assistance in our communities.

Jeff resides in Massapequa Park with his wife, Jennifer, and children Zachary, Jordanna, Ethan, and Addison. Jeff is a graduate of C.W. Post College, Long Island University. He is a member of the Sons of Italy, past president of the Lions Club and congregant of the Midway Jewish Center in Plainview. Jeff also volunteers his time to the Schechter School of Long Island where he serves on the finance committee.
