Info | Executive level experience - Dan Malloy, Stamford's four-term mayor has been committed to improving the quality of life for everyone who calls Stamford home. The results of this effort have earned the City the designation as one of the most livable cities in America. Under his leadership, Stamford's economy has been revitalized and the number of jobs increased by nine percent. He created a program that identified and insured the City's children who were eligible for HUSKY, but were without insurance. Stamford has built hundreds of affordable housing units, improved the public schools, and reduced crime. Named one of the top 100 rising Democratic leaders in the country – Dan's accomplishments in the second largest Republican stronghold in the State prove that he is the best candidate to win against a Republican in November.
Time-tested leadership, proven results - Stamford's strong and vibrant business base has added 5,000 new jobs -- in a State that continues to witness near zero job growth. The City has seen a 63% reduction in crime and launched the State's first universal pre-school program for four-year olds, regardless of the family's ability to pay. Stamford opened one of the State's most highly respected senior centers and secured and protected over 250 acres of open space, more than any other municipality in Connecticut. During the past 10 years, more than $200 million has been allocated to the school system – over 60 percent of the City budget, yet he's maintained taxes at or below the rate of inflation. Importantly, the City has experienced this rebirth while maintaining a AAA bond rating.
