InfoBenjamin Russell Mackintosh Stoneham, Baron Stoneham is a British peer, journalist and politician.

Stoneham originally was a moderate Labour member who later joined the SDP and finally the Liberal Democrats. Stoneham was a frequent parliamentary candidate and, in fact in 1983, he had the best finish of any non-MP by an SDP candidate, but he was never elected to the House of Commons. Stoneham was made a Lord in 2011.
