Info | Bob attended Roswell High School, where he was in the band, and graduated (valedictorian) at Lovett in 1966. He went to college at William and Mary, in Williamsburg, Virginia, where he majored in Government and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. Then he obtained a scholarship to Emory Law School. He graduated in 1973 and practiced law in Atlanta from 1973 to 1978 with the firm of Lipshutz, Macey, Zusmann, and Sikes. His practice focused mostly on real estate.
In 1978, Bob left the law practice to go to Harvard Business School, where he earned an MBA in 1980. He returned to Georgia and joined McKinsey & Co, a major international management consulting firm, in Atlanta. He was with McKinsey for 15 years, becoming a partner and specializing in organization and strategy issues for Fortune 500 companies. Then, in 1995,he accepted an offer from Coopers & Lybrand to lead and build one of its industry consulting practices, and since then has been a partner first with Coopers & Lybrand, and then with PricewaterhouseCoopers, of which C&L became a part in 1998.
Bob and his wife Lynn have both been active in every community they have been part of. Bob has taught Sunday School and served on the Diaconate and Board of Stewards at church. He has done pro bono work for the Atlanta Symphony, the Boy Scouts, and the Atlanta Arts Alliance. They have both been involved for years in neighborhood issues in Roswell, Sandy Springs, and Atlanta. While still in his early 20's, Bob was a founding member of the Roswell Historical Society, and currently serves as a board member of the Atlanta Historical Society. He has also been a committee chairman in the North Fulton Chamber of Commerce and the Sandy Springs Chamber of Commerce, and has worked closely with the Metro Chamber.
Bob has been an active Republican party volunteer for almost 40 years, and first began to work with, among others, Paul Coverdell, Newt Gingrich, John Linder, and Mack Mattingly when they were also Republican party volunteers.
As our next U.S. Senator, Bob will provide the same hard work, dedication and commitment to principle as he has given in his 15 years in the legislature and his decades of involvement in the community.
