Jeff has lived in the Eagle River area since he was 5 years old, attending Eagle River Public Schools (later to become the Northland Pines School District) from first grade on and graduating from Northland Pines High School in 1979. Jeff and his wife Donna were married in 1983 and together have resided in the City of Eagle River all but three years while Jeff attended Bible School in the St. Louis, Missouri area.
Jeff has been involved local business most of his adult life and in 1996 he and his wife purchased their own business, a local restaurant, which they continue to operate. In 2009 Jeff & his wife started The King's Bookshelf, a Christian Book Store just next to the restaurant.
Jeff was first elected to the Common Council in April of 1995 as an Alderman and in April of 2001 was elected Mayor after the previous Mayor, Dan Meyer, was elected to the State Assembly.
