Brian Pallister was first elected to the House of Commons in 2000, and was re-elected in 2004 and 2006. Mr. Pallister is currently Chair of the parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance. He served in the Manitoba Legislature from 1992 until 1997. In 1995, he was appointed Minister of Government Services. As Minister, Mr. Pallister reduced waste and improved service, helping Manitoba achieve the lowest cost government in Canada.

Prior to entering politics, Mr. Pallister taught high school and later founded Pallister Insurance and Financial Services. His company grew to be a leader in farm estate and retirement planning, with offices across southern Manitoba.

Mr. Pallister contributes to his community through many organizations, including the Canadian Insurance Agents’ Advisory Council, the Portage and District Chamber of Commerce and the Brandon University Foundation. Mr. Pallister has degrees in arts and education from Brandon University. He is a member of the Brandon University Basketball Hall of Fame, the Manitoba Softball Hall of Fame, and he is a former Manitoba Mixed Curling Champion. He and his wife Esther have two children.
