Info | I am a native of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. My father, Robert G. Williamson, has practiced law in Monroe County since 1966. My mother, Judith R. Williamson, taught elementary school and is a homemaker. My parents have instilled in me a strong work ethic guided by honesty, respect and fair play. My wife of 17 years, Megan Taylor Williamson, is a title insurance agent and active in local charities. Our son, Jack, attends 7th grade in the Stroudsburg Middle School.
I am a graduate of East Stroudsburg High School. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dickinson College and a Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law. While in law school, I worked as law clerk for the Harrisburg firm, Mette, Evans and Woodside. Upon returning to the area after law school, I spent the next 15 years focused on my family, the law and our community.
In 1995, I joined my father in the practice of law at Scanlon, Lewis & Williamson. The firm was founded in 1939 by the late James C. Scanlon and the late Kennard Lewis. As an attorney, I have personally handled and tried criminal, civil and land use cases, as well as, a broad range of legal matters, from adoptions to zoning, while maintaining an active estate and real estate practice. I am admitted to practice before the Court of Common Pleas, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, Superior Court, Commonwealth Court and the US District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania.
I have served as solicitor for several municipalities, as well as for the Monroe County Prothonotary, Clerk of Courts, & Clerk of Orphans Court. In the capacity of solicitor, I have advised the office on procedural rules for Court filings and administration of Court Orders. As the Carbon/Monroe/Pike Mental Health Review Officer, I have assisted the Court in determining mental health commitments in compliance with the Pennsylvania Mental Health Act. Since 1998, I have been a Court-appointed Guardian Ad Litem for Children & Youth cases. I have assisted and advised the Court in representing the best interests of children in dependency matters.
