Info | KINSLEY, Martin, a Representative from Massachusetts; born in Bridgewater, Mass., June 2, 1754; was graduated from Harvard College in 1778; studied medicine; purveyor of supplies in the Revolutionary Army; member of the State house of representatives in 1787, 1788, 1790-1792, 1794-1796, 1801-1804, and 1806; treasurer of Hardwick, Mass., 1787-1792; moved to Hampden in 1797; representative of Hampden in the general court 1801-1804 and 1806; member of the executive council in 1810 and 1811; judge of the court of common pleas in 1811; judge of the probate court; served in the state senate in 1814; elected as a Republican to the Sixteenth Congress (March 4, 1819-March 3, 1821); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1820 to the Seventeenth Congress; died in Roxbury, Mass., June 20, 1835.
