Brock was born 11/5/1903 in Clarksville TN. He attended Washington and Lee Univerity and the the Babson School of Economics. Most of his life, he worked for the Brock Candy Company, rising to the position of chairman.
Brock played an important role in educational changes in the 1960s. When Mayor Ralph Kelly was integrating the Chattanooga schools in 1962, he chose Brock to meet with community groups to ease the transition. His successful role earned him the B'nai B'rith 1962 Distinguished Award. Then in the late 1960s Brock played a major role in improving the educational programs at the University of Chattanooga. He pushed for the UC to join the state university system and formed the UC Foundation.
Brock died of heart disease on 6/1/1979.
