Info | Charles L. "Charlie" Daniels
Charlie Daniels was elected as Arkansas's State Land Commissioner in 1984, and is currently serving in his fifth term.
An electrician by trade and former United States Air Force serviceman, Daniels' political career began with a race for the Parker's Chapel school board. He served as the director of the Arkansas Department of Labor and worked for the Arkansas Electric Cooperatives before running for land commissioner.
Daniels serves as Chairman of the Arkansas Natural Resources Committee, is a member and former chairman of the Arkansas Natural and Cultural Resources Council, is a member and has served on the Executive Committee of the Western States Land Commissioners Association, and is a member and former treasurer of the Eastern Lands and Resources Council.
A native of El Dorado in Union County, Charlie Daniels and his family currently live in Bryant, Arkansas. He is married to the former Patricia Burleson and they have two children, four grandsons and two granddaughters. Their daughter, Marsha, is married and lives in the Chicago area with husband Andrew and grandchildren Drew, Daniel, Dustin, David and Anne Marie. Their son, Chuck and his wife, Harmony, live in Bryant with their daughter, Payton.
Daniels served in the United States Air Force as well as the Air Force Reserves. He attended both South Arkansas University and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
