Info | Lynn Jenkins, CPA, the 37th State Treasurer of Kansas, was elected to the position by the citizens of Kansas on November 5, 2002.
Jenkins entered the post of State Treasurer after serving as a State Senator. Prior to serving in the Senate, Jenkins served for two years in the Kansas House of Representatives. Jenkins has been a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for nearly 20 years.
As State Treasurer, Jenkins serves as a member of the Kansas Public Employee's Retirement System (KPERS) and the Pooled Money Investment Board (PMIB). In addition, Jenkins is a member of the College Savings Plan Network, the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators (NAUPA) and the National Association of State Treasurers (NAST).
Privately, Jenkins serves as a board member of the Kansas Society of CPAs, the Dwight D. Eisenhower Excellence in Public Service Honorary Board of Governors, the Aspen Institute's Rodel Fellowship in Pubic Leadership Program, the American Council of Young Political Leaders, the CASA Advisory Board, the YMCA of Topeka Metro Board, and the Auburn-Washburn Public Schools Foundation Board.
Jenkins, a sixth-generation Kansan, was raised on a dairy farm in Holton. She is a graduate of Kansas State University and Weber State College. Jenkins, 42, has a degree in Accounting with a minor in Economics. Lynn is married to Scott Jenkins who is also from rural Holton. They have been married for 22 years and have two children.
