Platform

The Lieutenant Governor must play a leadership role in building the infrastructure to diversify and strengthen our state's economy. This requires a commitment to quality of life issues that affect our current residents and that will attract high-tech industry. I will continue to be a strong advocate for quality public schools, a strong college and university system, and affordable health care, and I will continue to work on solutions to issues such as traffic congestion, high power and utility bills, air and water quality, and the current medical crisis. Nevada deserves a Lieutenant Governor with a proven history of effective leadership in these areas.

Role Model(s)

My mother was the greatest influence in my life. She was a child of immigrants and English was her second language. Eventually she became an English teacher and president of her local union. In her 30's she earned her Master's degree from Northwestern and in her 40's she earned a PhD in English from the University of Illinois. My mother always made me believe I could do anything or be anybody.
