Info | Governor Felix Perez Camacho is the son of the late Governor Carlos G. Camacho and Lourdes Perez Camacho. He is married to Joann Gumataotao Garcia Camacho and they have three children; Jessica Lourdes, Felix James, Maria Amparo and their first grandchild, Colin James.
Governor Camacho previously served as the Chairman of the Committee on Tourism, Transportation and Economic Development. He was also the Majority Whip, as well as a member of the Committee on Education; Natural Resources; Power, Public Safety & the Judiciary. Governor Camacho was first elected to the 22nd Guam Legislature and also served in the 23rd and 24th Guam Legislatures. He has served as Assistant Majority Leader, Chairman of the Legislative Committee on Power, Governmental Operations and Foreign Affairs in addition to serving as a member on several other committees, the Asian Pacific Parliamentarian Union, the Association of Pacific Island Legislatures, and National council of State Legislators.
Governor Camacho?s education began at St. Anthony?s School, graduating in 1972; he then attended Father Duenas Memorial High School, graduating in 1976. He attended Marquette University and graduated with a degree in Business Administration and Finance in 1980. Upon returning to Guam, Governor Camacho worked with Pacific Financial Corp. as Insurance Manager for the Property Casualty Division and eventually joined IBM Corp. as an Account Administrator. Governor Camacho?s public service began with an appointment as a Board member of the Civil Service Commission. In March 1988, Governor Joseph Ada appointed him as Deputy Chief of the Public Utility Agency of Guam and by November of 1988 was selected by the Board and appointed by Governor Ada to serve as the Executive Director of the Civil Service Commission.
Governor Camacho is a member of the Knights of Columbus and participates in many civic activities. He was honored as one of the Outstanding Young Men of America, and was a recipient of the Pacific Jaycees TYOP (Three Young Outstanding People) award.
