Leadership Experience

She currently owns Effective PMP, LLC, a specialized strategic project marketing company providing high-level global expertise in business development, marketing/market research, strategies, government relations and total project management

Her experience includes over seventeen years in Information Technology, marketing and project management combined with over ten years of experience leading new application development across multiple industries within Fortune 100 to 500 companies.

In 2008 she served as the VP of Publication for the PMI Memphis organization. She also served as VP of Strategic Planning & Information Technology for Inclusive Marketing Consulting, LLC. while fighting homelessness due to years of inadequate job opportunities in Memphis.

As the nomination chairman of the Memphis PMI from 2005-06, a colleague and a professional networking contact's recommendation was, and I quote:

"I had the privilege to work with Charlotte from 2005 -2006 on Election process in Memphis Chapter. As Nomination committee chair, she transformed our election process and took it to next level (to a highly competitive one with up to 4 contestants per position) by bringing her Leadership and Project Management skill. She was kind enough to share some of her wisdom in my Asian region to let my components achieve the maturity. I also had the privilege to work with her on Memphis Chapter Mentoring initiative too. She took this wonderful opportunity and I am glad to see she is one of the best beneficiary and role model of that project." January 16, 2007 , Saji Madapat , Vice President Finance , Project Management Institute (PMI), Memphis Chapter worked with Charlotte at PMI Memphis Chapter

Local Political Experience.

Charlotte's political experience began in 1984 while representing Springdale Memphis Magnet School at the executive level of the PTA at the Board of Education. During that time, she joined the board members as they lobbied Nashville in support of Governor Lamar Alexander's Better Schools Program to make her voice heard on matters affecting better schools in Tennessee.

National Political Experience.

Charlotte became a true activist in 2000 as a member of the U.S. President's Club. She worked on Lamar Alexander's campaign in Shelby County in 2002.

She served at the executive level of the Ed Bryant for U.S. Senate campaign in the Shelby County office in 2006.

During 2002 - 2005, while conducting letter writing campaigns to editors, U.S. Congressmen, U.S. Senators, the U.S. President and voters, among other groups, her voice was heard in Washington.

Charlotte began making trips to Washington D. C. to appeal to the U.S. Congress and Senate for job opportunities in Memphis in 2003. The appeals were working up until the housing and gas bubble played havoc with our economy.

As a result of her efforts, she was noticed and in 2003 Charlotte was awarded Tennessee Business Woman of the year by NRCC Chairman Congressman Tom Reynolds.

If elected mayor, Charlotte is committed to leading Memphis into the 21st Century as a city that maintains its commitment to its citizens, plans for success, realizes its goals, and ultimately achieves a quality of life which rivals any other major metropolitan area.

“I don’t kid myself — leading the Memphis community, especially during times of an economic downturn, with the national reputation we have earned during Herenton's administration is a challenging endeavor.

However, the skills needed by a business leader and a mayor to deal with short- and long-term goals, while addressing whatever issues may pop-up unexpectedly, are rather similar: It starts with listening to and hearing what the people in the greater Memphis areas are saying; developing strategies and objectives which are aligned with other individuals and groups; and move forward together in a manner that brings success and ownership to all that are involved.

I will not be your KING...I will be a leader in service to my community. But I Need, your help.
