Info | Charles Jinright is a life-long resident of the city of Montgomery. He’s an alumnus of Sidney Lanier High School and graduate of Troy University.
In 1995, Jinright was elected to represent district nine on the Montgomery City Council and recently re-elected to his fourth term. For the past two terms, he has served as president of the Montgomery City Council. Jinright has been involved in several projects to redevelop downtown Montgomery. He was a leader in bringing minor league baseball back to Montgomery as well as heavily involved in the new Riverfront Amphitheater, Montgomery Riverwalk and Renaissance Hotel-Convention Center.
For many years, Jinright has been very involved in the community both as an elected official and a private citizen. In 1974, he served as President of the Capital City Jaycees and President of the East Montgomery Optimist Club in 1983. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Boys Scouts, Goodwill Industries, Montgomery Area Food Bank, the Montgomery YMCA and the Metropolitan Planning Organization which oversees road and transportation issues in the tri-county area. In 2008, Jinright was honored as the March of Dimes River Region Citizen of the Year.
Jinright has been in the insurance industry for twenty-seven years and is presently Chairman of the Board of The Securance Group, Inc., an independent insurance agency with offices in six cities in Alabama.
Jinright has been married for thirty-six years to the former Martha Sims of Brewton, Alabama. They have one son, Bo who is married to Lindsey. In his spare time, Jinright enjoys playing golf, watching sports and boating.
