Joseph F. Johnston and served in that capacity until the end of the Governor’s term; member of the State senate in 1898; elected as a Democrat to the Fifty-seventh and Fifty-eighth Congresses and served from March 4, 1901, until his death in Washington, D.C., March 20, 1904; interment in the City Cemetery, Tuskegee, Ala.
