| Info | Mike Harilaid is a new comer to the political arena but brings to the table a broad range of real life experience and a passion for doing what is right. He combines a practical approach with a commitment to the environment.
Mike’s first career focus was real estate and finance. Mike became licensed as a real estate broker in 1987 and earned a number of professional accreditations, including Fellow of the Real Estate Institute of Canada (FRI) and the highly regarded Certified Property Manager (CPM). After becoming a director of a national real estate organization and writing a number of real estate texts, Mike decided to turn his attention to other more creative fields.
In 1992, Mike formed the fledgling production entity Black Walk which became a leading producer of music videos both domestically and internationally. In addition, he has produced numerous award winning films and documentaries including eight features films. Mike is a member of the Canadian Film and Television Producers Association.
Mike is keenly interested in sustainable food supplies and operates an experimental farm in Pickering TOHKU Farm which is developing safe food strategies in a realistic manner. He is a member of the Ontario Federation of Agriculture.
Mike lives in Pickering with his daughter Hannah and son Silas in the home that his father built in the late 50s. He is currently working on the final draft of his first lifestyle/cookbook.
