Info | BEACH, Clifton Bailey, a Representative from Ohio; born in Sharon, Medina County, Ohio, September 16, 1845; moved to Cleveland with his parents in 1857; attended the common schools and was graduated from Western Reserve College, Hudson, Ohio, in 1871; studied law; was admitted to the bar in 1872 and commenced practice in Cleveland; served as deputy collector of customs at Cleveland; retired from the practice of law in 1884 and engaged in the manufacture of wire nails, staples, and rods; elected as a Republican to the Fifty-fourth and Fifty-fifth Congresses (March 4, 1895-March 3, 1899); was not a candidate for renomination in 1898; resumed his former manufacturing pursuits in Cleveland; died at Rocky River, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, November 15, 1902; interment in Lake View Cemetery, Cleveland, Ohio.
