Info | From wikipedia...
Ray Frank Gricar (born October 9, 1945, missing April 15, 2005, declared legally dead July 25, 2011) is the former District Attorney for Centre County, Pennsylvania. Gricar was listed as a missing person April 15, 2005, after taking the day off to possibly travel to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Gricar's car, a red Mini Cooper, was discovered abandoned in a parking lot in Lewisburg. His keys, wallet, and sunglasses were missing. Gricar's car was opened by authorities and, though Gricar was not a smoker, discovered to have the faint smell of smoke and trace amounts of cigarette ash in it. This missing person case is widely regarded as one of the strangest cases in Pennsylvania history due to the lack of any usable evidence and his impending retirement after several terms in office.
Gricar's laptop was discovered in the Susquehanna River on September 30, 2005 lacking its hard drive. The hard drive was recovered two months later, but was physically damaged to the point of containing no retrievable information, according to the FBI. The investigation is ongoing.
A speculation-based account of Gricar's disappearance was featured on an episode of Court TV's Haunting Evidence, "The Missing D.A.", on June 21, 2006.
Served nearly 5 terms as Centre County District Attorney, with his final term set to end in December 2005.
