Info | David Bradley serves as vice chair of the State Board of Education. He was first elected to the State Board of Education in 1996. Bradley, a Republican who represents Southeast Texas, was re-elected to the board in 2000, 2002 and 2004.
During his tenure on the board, Bradley has served on the Committee on School Finance/Permanent School Fund and as chair of the Committee on Planning. He currently serves on the Committee on School Initiatives.
Married for more than 20 years, Bradley has 2 children. Bradley, a self-employed businessman, is licensed in insurance and real estate sales.
Bradley received his Eagle Scout award in 1972 and served on the executive board of the Three Rivers Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He is a graduate of Houston Independent School District's magnet program, High School for Health Professions. He attended the University of Houston and Texas A&M University, where he was a proud member of the Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets.
More recently, Bradley was president of the Old Town Neighborhood Association for four years. In addition, he was a founding member of the Oaks Historic District in Beaumont, the largest residential historic district in Texas. He was also founding president of Beaumont's Citizens on Patrol, a neighborhood crime prevention/patrol organization.
As a member of the State Board of Education, Bradley represents Chambers, Galveston, and Jefferson counties, as well as parts of Brazoria and Harris counties.
