Alison has served as both Shadow Chancellor and as the SNP Spokesperson for Home Affairs. She is currently the candidate for Glasgow North for the 2024 General Election.Alison is interested in issues around immigration and economic justice, particularly for women. She has also been a vocal advocate for changes to drug policy in the UK and is well known for her high profile campaign on the scrapping the two-child limit on Universal Credit and Working Tax Credits.She is the Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Infant Feeding and Inequalities, the APPG on Immigration Detention and the APPG for Working at Height. Prior to her election as an MP, she served as Glasgow City Councillor. Alison lives in Glasgow with her husband and 2 children.
