"Jerome A. Holmes is an experienced trial attorney, working on civil and criminal matters. He joined Crowe & Dunlevy as a Director after a distinguished 11-year career as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Oklahoma. Mr. Holmes’ practice focuses on defending corporations and individuals in white collar criminal matters, and litigating complex civil disputes. A major aspect of Mr. Holmes’ practice involves counseling corporations in their dealings with government regulators and law enforcement agencies and conducting corporate internal investigations.
Mr. Holmes received his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal. He received a B.A. degree from Wake Forest University, graduating cum laude. In addition, Mr. Holmes earned a Master in Public Administration degree from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, where he was a John B. Pickett Fellow in Criminal Justice Policy and Management.
Mr. Holmes is a leader in his profession, currently serving on the Oklahoma Bar Association’s Board of Governors (BOG) as Vice President. He is the first African-American in the history of the Oklahoma Bar Association to occupy an officer’s position on the BOG. In addition, he is an active member of the Oklahoma Bar Association’s Rules of Professional Conduct Committee. Mr. Holmes also serves on the Commission on Homelessness & Poverty of the American Bar Association (ABA) and is a member of several ABA committees, including the White Collar Crime, Criminal Litigation, and Ethics & Professionalism Committees."

Prior to joining the federal bench, Holmes had over eighteen years worth of experience in both the public and private practices of the law. Holmes began his legal career as a law clerk for Judge Wayne E. Alley at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma in 1988. Holmes then clerked for another federal judge, William Judson Holloway, Jr., on the Tenth Circuit from 1990-1991. He then entered private practice with the firm of Steptoe & Johnson in Washington, DC, in 1991, where he worked as an associate for three years before he returned to Oklahoma as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma. Holmes served in that capacity from 1994-2005. Holmes re-entered private practice in 2005 as a Director of the Oklahoma firm Crowe & Dunlevy, where his practice was focused on white collar criminal defense, complex civil litigation, and corporate law.
Holmes graduated from Wake Forest University in 1983 with a B.A.. He then attended the Georgetown University Law Center, where he was editor of the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal. He received his J.D. in 1988. In 2000, Holmes received a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard University.
