Kimberly Williamson Butler is a native of Buffalo, NY who was recruited to New Orleans nearly five years ago to breathe life into the Downtown Development District (DDD). Kimberly is a team-oriented leader who quickly climbed to the top of the downtown development industry by leaving a 17 year trail of success in New York, Michigan and Louisiana before being selected as top aide to Mayor C. Ray Nagin in 2002, making her the city's first African American female Chief Administrative Officer.
She credits her success with Christian values and a strong faith in God complimented by perseverance, developed leadership skills, an emphasis on effective communication and a can-do attitude. Her strong values led her to create a higher standard of conduct and integrity in City government. Her willingness to stand firm on those values has been an inspiration to both men and women from all walks of life.
