Hey I don't know if someone is interested in doing this but it's another opportunity for OC to continue its dominance of historic elections on the internet.
Today when looking for something else, I came across an article in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, 10/14/1894, that included a likeness of the Democratic and Republican nominees for US House in Missouri. Anyone interested can download the page at the link below and add the images of the candidates where they're missing here at OC.
Sorry I don't have time to do this in the near future. If someone wants to do it, maybe you should let others know.

This race needs to be moved to the appropriate container. For some reason I can't figure out how to get it into the right place though - can someone else take a look?

Can someone remove Long from this race? He ran for Secretary of State rather than Treasurer. The NC Manual of 1977 included the two races on the same page and placed Long in the wrong race. Thank you!

Does anyone know how to get the District Courts to show up at the bottom of the table to the left rather than at the top?

Okay over the past few days I have gone through all the races for NC governor (1777 to 2016). I added information on all missing conventions (1836 to 1912). I also fixed some typos in the names of the candidates, made sure the DOBs and DODs were correct, and added all the missing location markers for candidates. In cases where the candidate didn't use a full name on the ballot, I added initials that I found and made notes in the bio when appropriate. Two late twentieth century candidates used variations of their name: one was Jetter A. Barker (1976) = J. Andrew Barker (1984).
I added brief biographical tidbits from newspapers and added images when I could find them. Historic newspapers began to carry images of candidates in NC in 1895. I think all the images were already in beginning with 1992 but I cropped some.
Some interesting information about the candidates popped up. One mid-20th century candidate was a renowned hog caller, and another ran specifically to close down hog lagoons (2000). One worked as a gas station attendant, and one ran because she was having problems in a custody battle with her STBX husband (1996). One was a grandson of the founder of Eckerd's Drug Stores, and one was a conservationist who developed the idea of tree farming (he was a Republican).
Another interesting trend: it was remarkably common for losing candidates to get divorced in the two years following the election (this started in the 1960s and hasn't stopped). I only came across about a dozen cases of this, but this is about once in each election cycle.
Anyway in the coming days I may move to the races for Lt. Governor. Most of the Council of State races haven't been entered from 1868 to 1928, so they may follow since a lot of them later ran for Governor.

Can someone delete the RPW? I thought I had clicked the circle to make the replacement just now (when I found the name of the Republican nominee) but I guess I messed up (sorry).
