Brent has served in several positions where he was involved in policy, politics, and law.

• Involved in and supported the work of his father, Senator Orrin G. Hatch, who served in the U.S. Senate for 42 years
• Served for almost 40 years as a Director and Treasurer of the conservative Federalist Society for Law and Social Policy, located in Washington, D.C.
• Associate Counsel to the President of the United States in the White House, President George H. W. Bush
• Deputy Assistant Attorney General, United States Department of Justice, President Ronald Reagan
• General Counsel, National Endowment for the Humanities
• Law Clerk to Judge Robert H. Bork, U.S. Court of Appeals (District of Columbia Circuit)
• Elected Delegate to 2004 Republican National Convention

Brent is a graduate of Brigham Young University. His law degree is from Columbia University School of Law. He is listed as one of the Mountain States Super Lawyers Top 100. Brent is married, has four children, and five grandchildren all raised in Utah. He is proud of his Utah heritage and the service his family has given to our country. Brent wants to continue this legacy by serving as your United States Senator from Utah.
