Info | Byron Donalds is an experienced leader, a servant of his community and church, and a devout family man. He is currently exploring the opportunity to represent the citizens of Florida’s 14th Congressional District in the United States Congress.
Vision
Byron views our current political climate through the lens of history. He states, “Ever since man has sought to govern himself, there have been those who have sought excessive power and authority, believing they know best how to direct society. Today, Washington, DC is filled with far too many politicians who hold that attitude. We need men and women who understand that what sets America apart, what makes America the exception to world history, is the fundamental principle that our nation’s government is supposed to be subject to the will and the liberties of the people.” This is the approach that guides Byron’s thinking - and the mindset he plans to take to Washington, DC.
Personal
Byron Donalds and his wife Erika have lived in Naples, Florida for nine years and have three sons. His faith, family devotion and love of country have motivated Byron to seek public office, fueled by a concern for the lack of selfless political leaders who will serve as champions for the cause of limited government, fiscal responsibility and individual sovereignty. Byron is originally from Brooklyn, New York, where he was raised by a single mother, who stressed the importance of education as the key to a successful future. Byron holds both Finance and Marketing degrees from the Florida State University.
Profess fess ional
Byron currently serves as Portfolio Manager for CMG Life Services, Inc., responsible for maintaining an overseas portfolio of life settlement investments. He also developed the Company’s valuation analysis tools and risk management procedures, which have been key to preserving favorable returns for the portfolio’s investors. Prior to CMG, Byron was the Assistant VP and Manager of the Commercial Credit division of TIB Bank. His effective leadership earned him recognition as Bank Officer of the Year.
Service
Byron has consistently invested himself in the Naples community. He serves as youth leader in his church, coaches little league, and volunteers on various service/non-profit boards and committees in the area. In 2005, Byron and his wife Erika, a CPA, together launched a mentoring program for families who were struggling financially, helping many couples and young people create budgets, set financial goals, and repair their credit ratings to achieve financial security.
I
n 2007, Byron became a member and later Chairman of the Board for Child Evangelism Fellowship of Collier County. Byron’s business acumen and obvious passion for this cause has helped further Child Evangelism Fellowship’s mission to bring the gospel to elementary-age school children through after school programs. During his tenure, CEF of Collier County has more than doubled its outreach and now conducts programs in 14 Collier County elementary schools.
Concerned about the economy and the state of our nation, Byron joined the Naples Tea Party and became one of seven members of the Leadership Council for that organization. Byron has given several keynote speeches at Tea Party rallies and Republican events over the past two years. He has spoken eloquently on the importance and permanence of our freedoms and the US Constitution. He organized the Naples Tea Party Gives Back event, which collected donations of food and money for St. Matthew’s House, and received national attention
