Description BBC Constituency Profile:

The seat of Holborn and St Pancras, to the north of central London, includes the tourist centres of Covent Garden, Camden Town and Regent's Park, as well as Bloomsbury, home of University College London. Thousands of new jobs were created when the new Channel Tunnel rail terminal for Eurostar was moved to St Pancras International in 2007. The level of business traffic rose after areas around the terminal were redeveloped.

Just under 30% of households in this seat rent their property from the council, according to the ONS 2011 Census for England and Wales.

The constituency was created in 1983 from the seats of St Pancras North, and Holborn and St Pancras South. It has been represented sinceits inception by Labour's Frank Dobson, who is standing down at this year's election. In 2010, he won 46.1% of the vote, with the Liberal Democrats on 27.9%, Conservatives 20.4% and Green 2.7%.
