I want to create a municipal government that (1 provides safe and affordable housing for all Ottawa City residents and thereby reduces significantly, if not eliminates, homelessness in the City; (2 that works toward improving the City’s healthcare by initially increasing the number of nurses who work in the City; 3) that prioritizes waste management and timely snow removal as environmental actions that both enhance the lives of citizens and protect the environment; 4) as a long term poverty reduction goal, improves education in the City especially for children who live in low income and, often, one parent families; and 5) as a short term poverty reduction goal, increases the number of good jobs available to Ottawa City residents. I know other social issues and problems exist in Ottawa City but believe that an efficient government sets priorities.
I Supported the developments of a political engagement strategy with ministers and senior civil servants within key government departments, including the Ministry of Justice, Attorney General, Supreme Court, Department of Foreign Affairs, and other associated agencies, monitored the development to make sure they delivers services to the local population.
• I maintained links with key political advisers, political party staff & party members, key select committee staff, and other influencers with the wider public policy field to make sure they are following the constitution in case if they need assistance I was directing them to our training legal department.
• I worked closely with both senior internal and external stakeholders, in particular with the Vice President of corporate Affairs, often whilst out of the office attending events and meetings elsewhere to make sure what is the other departments needs from the Vice President Office.
