Any destruction of the Pinochet legacy is a good thing.

I'm hopin that the undecideds lean yes...

I just find it unlikely that they would vote Boric then vote down the Constitution.

But voters are not always the most informed, so it could be either or....

Looking like a far more emphatic "no" than the polls predicted.

With 72.20% in, the "nos" have so far been winning by mostly double-digit margins in all 16 of Chile's regions. Pretty astounding.

That Washington Post editorial sealed the deal.

Ironically, I think the "no" vote result may be a blessing for Boric in the next couple of months. Anticipation of this vote has been a heavy-breathing albatross clinging round Boric's neck, contributing mightily to his dreadfully low poll numbers since taking office on March 11.

Now that the vote's over, the public is free to look at other things it may (or may not) like about Boric. He sloughs off this sinister bird and is offered a tabula rasa that he can chalk up with new priorities and promises. It could be a second chance.

Does this vote mean constitutional reform is over or do they go back to the drawing board?

A 'back to the drawing board' scenario was always an alternative game plan. But the thumping by the "no" brigades was so powerful and pervasive (every single region, and by double digits!), I can't see the constitutional reformists doing much more than licking their deep and painful wounds for a very long time.

IndyGeorgia: Does this vote mean constitutional reform is over or do they go back to the drawing board?

There is a divide on what to do next.

Boric wants to uphold the Convention and rewrite another Constitution while others are saying that since the Chambers cannot meet a quorum, it is best to just vote on individual Cobstitutiinal Provisions
