A squeaker.

[SD:73; M:67; KD:19; L: 16]

Left bloc - 174
[S:108; C:24; V:24; MP: 18]

Seems like a very thin majority, will they be able to govern effectively?

Thank you, Max. I think the Kristersson administration will govern effectively since the personalities within the right bloc are getting along (so far), united by a commitment to fighting Sweden's incredible crime wave (an issue that probably gave the SD the leg-up) + Åkesson has been very accommodative (instantly deferring to a Kristersson prime-ministership and agreeing to few-to-zero SD cabinet members, even though his SD won the largest number of seats in the right bloc).

And, in retrospect, I think few thought the Andersson/Social Democrat-led administration was unsteady (even though it held only 175 seats to the opposition's 174 in the Riksdag). Many thought it was 'safe' ad infinitum.

And more difficulties await the Social Democratic team: the left bloc lost a key ally when Annie Lööf resigned yesterday as chairman of the Centre Party (she faced an internal insurrection for steering this usually center-right agrarian party to the left + she presided over Centre Party disaster at the ballot box on the 11th, where it lost in ALL 55 rural municipalities).
