I'm somewhat surprised by Glenn jumping into this race, but does answer the "announcement" he's been teasing for a while. I like him and think he'd be a good mayor if elected. Competent and a good conservative match for this municipality, Colorado's second largest city in the most conservative county (El Paso) by size.
I expect former Sec of State Wayne Williams to also jump in, maybe that is why Glenn is getting an early start. Most would expect Williams to be seen as a front-runner.
Although he is resigning at the end of the year, I'd be curious to see if Councilman Richard Skorman also jumps in for the left of center voters. There is also likely to be at least one or two Democratic state legislators that might consider jumping in.

Republicans are pretty pissed at Wayne Williams for doing a PSA with SoS Jena Griswold for the Secretary of State's office which Griswold is using to promote herself during this election year.
He would have been the early favorite in this race, but I'm not so sure anymore.

Williams is the target of a recall. The effort is being spearheaded by former El Paso Co GOP Treasurer and frequent candidate John Pitchford. Look for the Griswold ad to help the recall gain momentum.

Last day to file here and I'm waiting to see if Yemi Mobolade makes the ballot. Everyone else had made the ballot.
I'll be interested to see where City Councilman and former Secretary of State Wayne Williams finishes. I would have said that he would have been a shoe-in for at least the run-off before last Novembers elections. But he angered many Republicans for doing a public service commercial with the sitting Secretary of State Jena Griswold on ballot and election security. This of course makes him a RINO now.
He faces off against Councilman Tom Strand, County Commissioner and former Councilman Longinos Gonzalez, former Commissioner and Senate Candidate Darryl Glenn, and Former County Commissioner and Former Councilwoman Sallie Clark.
This seems like a true toss-up to me as all the above names have some political base.
Curious to see who goes after votes on the left. Maybe Business / Minister Yemi Mobolade if he makes the ballot. Maybe Sallie Clark, even though she's a Republican she's focused on some progressive issues.

I have no idea whats going to happen. No polling I can find. If I had to guess, Williams and Clark into a run-off since they are mostly on the the TV airwaves? Mobolade is the candidate of the Democrats, could he make the run-off in a town that is begining to add more D voters?
I'll enter in the money soon. But here's the ending balance data from March 1.
Hilarious that Wayne Williams essentially has the same website he's used (updated for content) since he was Colorado Secretary of State and also what he used to run for City Council. I guess if its not broken why fix it.
Wayne Williams = $281,296.47
Yemi Mobolade = $195,454.18
Sallie Clark = $125,903.04
Andrew Dalby = $125,051.91
Longinos Gonazalez, Jr. = $123,358.29
The rest don't have much to report.
Surprised Darryl Glenn has not been more active in this race. Wondering if he is putting more energy into getting hs wife elected to the At-large city council race.
Dalby spent $275K in February to something called Dark Money Advertising a Colorado Springs LLC.

Colorado Springs is done counting for the night. Resume counting tomorrow.
So far 93K ballots have been counted.
Pretty sure Yemi will go to a run-off. Clark hasn't conceded to Williams yet, calling the race to close to call at this point.

2.30 drop. 5000 ballots left to count which means Yemi Mobolade will make the run-off.
Not much changing in the margins between Williams and Clark, but Clark could theoretically still overtake Williams based on outstanding ballots.
We will likely learn with the 4.30 drop that this will be a Mobolade v Williams run-off.

Just curious why you think Glenn is a RINO. Most Republicans would have called out Wayne Williams as the RINO in the race since he took heat for doing a public service commercial with the Democrat who beat him for SoS. He's also considered more of a centrist in Republican circles.
Glenn, by comparison, is seen by most in the area to be politically, economically and socially to the right of most of the candidates in the race. Both he and his wife, who ran for Council, identify strongly with the Christian right movement.
