Exit polling reveals Vetëvendosje picking up between 50 to 56 seats [Link] almost double what it took in 2019. This means a (likely) second tour as Prime Minister for Albin Kurti. His enemies cannot unite with enough seats in parliament to overcome this.

Champagne corks are popping off at Kurti headquarters [Link]

Other news: NISMA whipped out of Parliament. The LDK/PDK/AAK gang cut in half.

From the exit polls:

Vetëvendosje Movement 47.9% - estimated to equal 55 seats (from 29 in 2019)

Democratic Party of Kosovo 17.7% (from 24 in 2019 to 20 seats now)

Democratic League of Kosovo 14.6% (from 28 in 2019 to 17 seats now)

Alliance for the Future of Kosovo 6.6% (from 13 in 2019 to 8 seats)

Overlooked in this race is the fact that current President Vjosa Osmani and her "GUXO" party (which decided to link up with Kurti's Vetëvendosje and combine their voter support) took 206,570 votes, the highest a single candidate received in Kosovo's history [Link]

Osmani is the secret weapon, the trigger that catapulted Vetëvendosje to first place. Osmani's popularity, her ability to 'pull in' voter support for the LVV, is the reason why Kurti is the prime minister-designate. It's the reason why the LVV nearly doubled its seat-total in parliament. I could contend this without qualification.

Putting it another way, if Osmani were not united with Kurti, if she had instead decided to link back up with her old friends at the LDK, Avdullah Hoti would be Prime Minister for a second turn.

Osmani is the real "hero' of the moment and the pol to watch.
