USA will win most Gold and most overall again, but needed a come from behind to win most golds today. Congrats go out to womens team sports who brought us ahead in the count: Volleyball and Basketball.

IOC regcognizes more than 200 National Olympic Committees (NOC)s. Compared to the 193 recognized National States of the United Nations. US Territories including Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, and the USVI all have their own NOCs.

Hong Kong has an NOC even though they are part of the Republic of China.

Auruba has an NOC even though they are part of the Netherlands.

The above list is not complete, and there are several unrecognized NOCs that are territories or break away regions from recognized UN States.
