Seth, any thoughts on this race? A rare rural Clinton district held by a Republican, probably so because of Greene's personal base of support.

Hey Indy, I think it depends on Biden's performance in the state, and if Barlow can ride his coattails to victory. I think the fact that Greene brings money to the district is why voters still trust him. She seems to be fundraising pretty well, so I'd say this race is a pure tossup.

Greene winning 54% in his home county while that county also gave Abrams 54% has to help Greene a little. Meaning there's like 10% of the voters there that were voting Greene/Abrams.

A key issue in this race is the particular impact COVID-19 has had in Southwest Georgia. The NYT reports 1 in 28 people in Stewart County has been infected, with similar figures in neighboring counties. In addition, the percentage of people who know someone who has died/been infected has to be significant in small towns.

RBH: Greene winning 54% in his home county while that county also gave Abrams 54% has to help Greene a little.

And this time around, Greene won 53% in his home county while that county gave Joe Biden 54%. So, the race is a few points tighter than 2018, but it didn't flip.

Gerald Greene's personal appeal wins the day.
