If Kathryn Garcia is the Democratic Party's candidate, I would vote for her.

If Eric Adams is the Democratic Party's candidate, I would vote for Curtis Sliwa on the Animal Welfare Party line.

I added write-in totals from two non-candidates who got way more write-in votes than on-the-ballot Stora. It's possible some of my standards for intent are way more generous than laws.

Other write-in votes include:

9 votes for Yankees slugger Aaron Judge
26 votes for AOC (20 with the dash between Ocasio and Cortez, and 6 without)
14 votes for Andrew Cuomo
247 votes for Andrew Yang
28 votes for Bernie Sanders
22 votes for Trump
10 votes for Donald Trump Jr
2 votes for Eugene Debs
1 vote for Flip Wilson
22 votes for India Walton
116 votes for Bloomberg
67 votes for Paperboy Love Prince (45 with the full name, 22 for "Paperboy Prince")
233 votes for Scott Stringer
1 vote for Virgil Texas

on checking, that write-in for Virgil came from AD54 in Brooklyn (which includes part of Bushwick, [Link] ) for anybody wanting to be specific in blaming podcast listeners for that vote.

"Curtis Sliwa got only 70,000 fewer votes than Joe Manchin got last time he ran for Senate" is one of my favorite statistics ever.

this race went from 66-28 in 2017 to 66-28 in 2021 and the two things from the Assembly District level results

1) there were pro-Dem swings from the worst of the anti-Di Blasio results in Staten Island/Queens/Manhattan with the pro-R swings being mostly in places where Rs still lost

2) Rojas shows up in a few ADs on the deviation map (she won more votes than Sliwa in two ADs)

A college friend of mine who lives in NYC visited us this past week for a few days. He's definitely on the far (far) left of the political spectrum now.

When we got into politics, thought it was interesting how he kept saying Adams is governing as if he was a Republican Mayor of New York City. He seems to think he'll be in trouble for re-election and will get a strong challenge from the left. Don't know if that view is universal among New Yorkers.
