As seat compositions set, one can see that negotiations begin on a predictable course: [Link]
Netanyahu warns of a "dangerous government that relies on the Arab parties" (Gantz, et al.) and summons the Right from atop a hill to discuss that clear and present danger down below, a 'come-back-home' whistle to Liberman that he better not lend his party's projected nine seats to a Benny Brigade containing a newly muscular battalion of Palestinian revanchists.
Liberman for his part provides a predictable plea for that 'grand coalition' of Likud and B&W, a real throwaway shot and a dim-bulbed yokel fantasy (and he knows it). I'm already tired of hearing it.
Liberman will have to make a decision soon (Benny or Bibi - there's no 'Grand Coalition' face-saving measure out there for you). Otherwise, Israel's in for months of misery - and liberman everyone's Enemy Number One.

Forgive me, but it appears you're accepting Netanyahu's premise that the Arab parties are dangerous.

Yamina's declaration that they will split into two parties and sit in the opposition [Link] will make it even more difficult for Netanyahu to form a center right government.

Looks like Gantz is about to fail to form government too. Moving towards another election.

So with the indictment of Netanyahu, the possibility opens that Likud dumps him and makes a grand coalition with Blue and White feasible.

So... does Netanyahu get the check mark because he is serving in a caretaker role?

Yes. He's given up his other roles (Health Minister, Social Affairs Minister, Agriculture Minister, etc.), but he's still on record a full-fledged Prime Minister (not even caretaker) [Link]

But that's just carryover from the last election, right?
