Hey Everyone, so I thought of resurrecting these races so people could have a little fun at the end of the year.

Nominate any politician or politicians (US or international) that you think has/have had a particularly outstanding year. It's not the politician that you like best, but someone who did something to excel electorally or politically. Throw in a quick statement about a nominee if you wish.

Emmanuel Macron, creating his own party and winning the presidential election and a landslide victory in the legislative election.

Won larger than expected victories and carried the Democrats to almost taking control of the House of Delegates

Along with completely fooling voters on the left.

I vote Macron.

Jones simply benefited from running against a pedophile and Northam benefitted from the strong anti-Trump Resistance in NOVA. Any Democrat could’ve won either race.

Nominating Jacinda Ardern: took over her party seven weeks before the election when they were down 20 points in the polls. Gained seats and negotiated a coalition deal to form a government.

Might want to nominate Sebastian Kurz for a similar turn-around effort.

I agree with INDYGEORGIA's two choices: I nominate both Jacinda Adern (Jacindamania?!? A name permutating into a movement in just a week's time? Who else could it be?) and Sebastian Kurz, who also came out of nowhere to lead his country based mainly on good looks and youth.
