Yeah, looking like Hawley as the favorite. A lot of Republicans eyeing an open MO-02 race now have to look elsewhere.

This ought to smooth Hawley's way to the top in the Senate race against McCaskill: [Link] Almost a coronation.

It wouldn't shock me if Sykes doesn't even finish 2nd out of this field. Which is an indirect way of saying Petersen has what it takes to finish a distant 2nd.

Also, while not an endorsement of his political views, I did purchase pizza from Monetti's place while going to college.

What is Sykes known for in Missouri? All I get from his campaign website is he had a great military career which ended 6 years ago when he returned to Missouri.

He never lived in Missouri until recently and he's an Arkansas native. He's mostly known for getting online attention, to be honest.

Former Senator John Danforth regrets his endorsement of Josh Hawley here:

Supporting Josh and trying so hard to get him elected to the Senate was the worst mistake I ever made in my life. Yesterday was the physical culmination of the long attempt (by Hawley and others) to foment a lack of public confidence in our democratic system. It is very dangerous to America to continue pushing this idea that government doesn’t work and that voting was fraudulent. [Link]

It's funny to think that Austin Petersen thought he had a chance at winning this.

the deviation map gives me the impression that Petersen only really went on TV in the Columbia/Jeff City area
