At the national conventions of the major parties, special medals and ribbons were made for various types of attenders, with one for delegates, one for alternates, one for press, one for the sergeant-at-arms, etc. I have picked up a few of these from the Democratic and Republican national conventions over the years on e-bay. This weekend I purchased a delegate badge and ribbon from the 1916 Progressive National Convention. It was worn by a delegate from California. Maybe when it arrives I will post a photograph here.
