It's a shame how the Democrats maintain the status quo on seniority and refuse to impose term limits on committee leadership.
Nancy Pelosi was the Democratic leader for 20 years
Maxine Waters has been the top Democrat on Financial Services since 2013. Starting her 18th term in Congress
Nydia Valesquez has been top Democrat on Small Business since 1999. Starting her 17th term in Congress.
Richard Neal has been top Democrat on Ways and Means since 2017, starting his 19th term in Congress.
Frank Pallone has been top Democrat on Energy and Commerce since 2013, starting his 19th term.
John Conyers was top Democrat on Judiciary from 1995-2017, 23 years and in Congress for 53 years until leaving at age 88. Didn't become chairman until starting his 22nd term in 2007.

There needs to be a constitutional amendment imposing age limits on the president, vice-president, Represenatives and Senators, prohibiting the election or candidacy for that office for those 75 and older.
25 senators would be ineligible for re-election America had 28th amendment known as the age limits amendment.

I'd honestly rather term limits then age limits, as some people who are old can be quite sharp.

Age limits, not term limits because politicians would still build experience. Every generation deserves their turn in Congress, in the 1980s, the majority of Congress were the Silent Generation, this generation along with every other generation had their turn and every generation deserves their turn. Age limits would tell old politicians, your generation had your turn, let the next generation take over.
America already has term limits, they're called elections as members of Congress are up for renewal.
