Overall, Kennedy is likely the clear front-runner for the convention endorsement, but Herrod is also likely a major contender. It is also very possible that one of the other candidates could surprise at the convention and potentially knock Kennedy out of the race. There may be a push from the signature-gathering candidates for Herrod, as he would likely be much less of a threat in the primary than Kennedy.

this whole thing kinda slowed down the entire evening since they had to do this before the US Senate vote

and here it came down to "will Wilson get enough votes to qualify for the primary ballot too" at the end

Is the the threshold 40% in all races to make the ballot through the Convention? Or is it different based on the number candidates in a race?

pretty sure it was 40% for everything this year, but there have been some situations where a multi-county legislative race would have a higher threshold depending on one county
