In her announcement, Pekarsky claims that "Nearly 94% of New 36th District Has No Incumbent Running". Barker's previous district is only around 6% of the new district, with Clifton, where Barker lives, being the only area he represented in the new district, but still likely to be a tough matchup for Pekarsky as Barker has been in the State Senate for over a decade at this point.
