Granted no one in the left self identifies as Alt-left, but MSM and political scientists have referred to far left groups that tend to believe in conspiracy theories and don't subscribe to traditional left wing ideology as alt-left.

That was a poor attempt to make something. While a term like that may be beneficial, the problem is u cannot really use a vague term like that when people easily use it for many things. EX: I doubt MSM meant Cenk Uyger when they coined Alt-Left, but the people they did mean don't see it that way.

The thing that makes the Alt-Right the Alt-Right is the white supremecy part, and thats not nescessarily an issue for lefties.

People in Left Discourse give names depending on their severities and such, though one common name is NazBols:

EX:
Red-Browns: Leftists who are ok with aligning with Fascists
Class Reductionists: People who say ignore Race/Sexuality, only focus on Class/Revolution
Tankies: Lefties that love Authoritarian regimes like USSR/China and will support them no matter what

What do you call the leftists that our to the extreme of the Democratic Party? Do you prefer hard-left?

You mean like the Squad? Democratic Socialists? Justice Democrat's? The Left?

The left in the US has been historically weak so, we aren't used to a hard hitting term for that. And there really isn't much need outside of the ones I right above (Squad, Justice Dems, Etc)

Except Nazbol is an insult, nobody really uses it outside that.

Strasserite actually has people use that as just to be ideology.
