Old Dominion Democrat: Very little of this money is from Maine, which is not a fact that can be readily ignored. If large sums of cash guaranteed wins then Senators Heitkamp and O'Rourke would be sitting on the floor of the House tonight listening to the SOTU.
I don't have the stats offhand, but I doubt the millions raised against her were from Maine either.
Labour Dem: I can't find any polls with Collins up 20+? Thanks in advance for a citation. And yes, out of state money doesn't at all guarantee a win. There are plenty of right leaning people out of state willing to reward Collins, but she has to be re-elected by people who live in Maine.
Emerson released a poll in October that showed Collins with a 44%-20% lead over Susan Rice> It can be concerning that an incumbent is below 50%, but this was after the heat of the Kavanaugh vote. I doubt that vote will matter as much come election time.
