Investigate a group coming in destined to kill yous? We'll kick you off right your committees.

Racism/anti-semitism? Let's begrudgingly hold a vote about it.

Outside of Schiff, the Select Committee selections have some real bipartisan credibility. Now, if only McCarthy would appoint serious people (like John Katko) things may actually be serious. However, that seems completely improbable.

Here is a recent exchange between a Russian reporter and McCarthy, who was on a trip to Israel:

Question: We know that you don't support... aid to Ukraine... can you comment when U.S. policy will change?

McCarthy: No, I vote FOR aid to Ukraine. I support aid for Ukraine. I do not support what your country has done to Ukraine. I do not support your killing of the children, and I think from one standpoint you should pull out. And I don't think it's right. And I will continue the support because the rest of the world sees it just as it is.

I give props to Speaker McCarthy for his continued support for Ukraine.

RP: I give props to Speaker McCarthy for his continued support for Ukraine.

Candidly, a pretty bold statement for him to make given a small minority in his party think differently. Even more bold when you consider he will likely face the same opposition when the vote for Speaker comes up again in two years if the GOP retains a majority.
