I'm don't support his opponent's reasons for doing it (his "relentless opposition to Pelosi), but he has come off as a bit smug throughout the process. You can't defeat someone with no viable alternative and I was a huge fan of Tierney's before Moulton's primary.. Moulton's time has't already "come and gone," but he is squandering some of his potential at the moment.

Moulton is probably positioned reasonably well because there'll be so much time in-between today and the next Massachusetts primary in September 2020.
But L'Italien does actually live in Moulton's district, so she can vote for herself this time.
