Well, Thompson was more conservative then some Republicans in Legislature, and was THE only Democratic state legislator i would call a "conservative" without any stipulations. Now the realignment process in legislatures is, essentially, complete as there are no more REALLY conservative Democratic legislators, and no more REALLY liberal Republican ones anymore.. Only "somewhat conservative" and "somewhat liberal")))
