Description | With all but one of the state's 11,547 precincts tallied at last, Kearns had 391,284 votes and Quinn had 389,831 votes. Official results, however, won't be announced by the State Board of Elections until April 6.
Quinn, a former state treasurer long on the outs with Illinois Democratic leaders, claimed precinct captains in four "Machine wards" on the southwest side had hurt his chances with voting irregularities.
He hinted that if he comes up short when the official results are finally announced, he'll demand a recount. |
