Description | College students are planning a march at 8 a.m. Monday to protest Proposition 300, arguing that the measure could deny undocumented immigrants raised in Arizona a right to higher education.
The march, planned by a student group calling itself Students Against 300, will go from Old Main at Arizona State University's main campus in Tempe to the Arizona Capitol in Phoenix.
"Students feel like they're under attack," organizer Carlos Garcia said. advertisement
Proposition 300 would make illegal an array of state-supported education and child-care services for undocumented immigrants and non-citizens. If passed, it would require Arizona students who are not American citizens to pay out-of-state tuition to attend public colleges here. |
