Description | Magazine gives governor race one-point spread

CHEYENNE – Pssst, tell your bookie: Campaigns & Elections magazine is giving the race for Wyoming governor a one-point spread.
According to the magazine’s regular feature, Political Oddsmaker, odds are 40 to 39 that Republican Eli Bebout will beat Democrat Dave Freudenthal in the Nov. 5 general election.
That gives Bebout a 50.6 percent chance of winning the coveted seat.
The assessment does not appear to be based on scientific surveys or similar information. And it does not appear to take into account either Libertarian candidate Dave Dawson or undecided voters.
Still, the Oddsmaker does claim to have chosen correctly in 98 percent of the more than 1,500 picks it has made since 1996. That includes state and federal offices.
